Kids Club, our after school care provision is based in the Downey Hall where there is plenty of space for a variety of activities and easy access to the playground for outdoor fun. We can accommodate 48 children with a child to adult playworker ratio of 1-8. Children are brought over to the club at the end of their school day by their teacher or teaching assistant. All staff wear a bright blue tabbard so that the children can spot them easily and the children wear bright blue high viz vests so that they can be easily seen! The manager of the club is Rachel Howes.
So much to do!
During Kids Club, the children are offered a range of supervised leisure and learning activities including art & crafts, play dough, swingball, table tennis, badminton, lego and construction toys. Children have access to computers to play learning games or to help with homework. At regular intervals, the club will hold theme weeks and we plan and celebrate multi cultural occasions. Weather permitting, the children will be out on the adventure playground.
All activities change weekly and parents and carers are welcome to come and see Rachel Howes for details. Do check out our noticeboard in the hallway outside the school office for examples of the week's activities.
Kids Club has an enviable safety record. Our friendly staff have been carefully selected for their qualifications, experience and interests. All team members hold qualified 1st aid certificates and our staff: Children ratios are on average 1:8. A limit is placed on the number of children attending the club each day to ensure safety.
